Hobonichi Techo - Kakimori x TSUKI no IRO: Mini Ink Bottle Set (January-June)
Hobonichi started as a lifestyle website “Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun,” [Almost Daily Itoi Newspaper] in 1998 featuring “almost-daily” essays by founder and editor-in-chief, Shigesato Itoi, who is well known for other ventures including game design and songwriting. In 2001, the Hobonichi Techo [planner] was launched after positive response from readers when asked if they would purchase a techo by the brand if developed. Since then, the Hobonichi lineup has grown from 1 to 7 types, with some being available in Japanese, English, and Chinese, and has sold over 10 million copies over the world.
Kakimori’s line of stationery products, ranging from notebooks to pens and ink, are crafted to “celebrate the joy of writing,” which they believe can not only give form to our thoughts, but also enrich our interactions with others. They do this while also honoring the environment through the development of creative solutions to reduce waste.
The Hobonichi Techo uses 12 soft colors across the book. The TSUKI no IRO stationery series incorporates these colors into simple designs. This is a collaboration item with the stationery store Kakimori. This is a six-bottle set covering January through June, with inks blended to match the printed colors of the 12 months in the Hobonichi Techo book. Because the ink is water- resistant and resists fading from light, it is highly recommended for writing down important things like diaries that you want to preserve for a long time.
