Hobonichi started as a lifestyle website “Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun,” [Almost Daily Itoi Newspaper] in 1998 featuring “almost-daily” essays by founder and editor-in-chief, Shigesato Itoi, who is well known for other ventures including game design and songwriting. In 2001, the Hobonichi Techo [planner] was launched after positive response from readers when asked if they would purchase a techo by the brand if developed. Since then, the Hobonichi lineup has grown from 1 to 7 types, with some being available in Japanese, English, and Chinese, and has sold over 10 million copies over the world.
This design was released in 1933 by artist "DS," who created "Betsy" and other designs. This design is studded with a vast array of flowers in various colors and shapes, including light pink, orange, vermilion and other red tones, as well as pale navy, sky blue, and other blue tones.
