Hobonichi started as a lifestyle website “Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun,” [Almost Daily Itoi Newspaper] in 1998 featuring “almost-daily” essays by founder and editor-in-chief, Shigesato Itoi, who is well known for other ventures including game design and songwriting. In 2001, the Hobonichi Techo [planner] was launched after positive response from readers when asked if they would purchase a techo by the brand if developed. Since then, the Hobonichi lineup has grown from 1 to 7 types, with some being available in Japanese, English, and Chinese, and has sold over 10 million copies over the world.
This adorable keychain features a miniature Hobonichi Techo, scaled down to about 1/10th of its original size. The color is eye- catching and vibrant. Inside, it includes a grid notebook that you can actually write in. It looks just like the real thing, right down to the "butterfly-stopper" pen holders and the pocket on the back.
