2027 Hobonichi Techo English Weeks - Yumi Kitagishi: White Cat Wallpaper
Hobonichi started as a lifestyle website “Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun,” [Almost Daily Itoi Newspaper] in 1998 featuring “almost-daily” essays by founder and editor-in-chief, Shigesato Itoi, who is well known for other ventures including game design and songwriting. In 2001, the Hobonichi Techo [planner] was launched after positive response from readers when asked if they would purchase a techo by the brand if developed. Since then, the Hobonichi lineup has grown from 1 to 7 types, with some being available in Japanese, English, and Chinese, and has sold over 10 million copies over the world.
This design features exclusive illustrations specially drawn by illustrator Yumi Kitagishi. The wallpaper-like pattern combines motifs of the familiar white cat and other adorable animals, creating a design that exudes both cuteness and elegance. The small flowers and ribbons stamped in gold foil along the spine serve as a beautiful accent. The cover has been constructed as a light hardcover book with some give to it so it still bends.
