2027 Hobonichi Techo English Weeks - Paper Series: Black Argyle
Hobonichi started as a lifestyle website “Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun,” [Almost Daily Itoi Newspaper] in 1998 featuring “almost-daily” essays by founder and editor-in-chief, Shigesato Itoi, who is well known for other ventures including game design and songwriting. In 2001, the Hobonichi Techo [planner] was launched after positive response from readers when asked if they would purchase a techo by the brand if developed. Since then, the Hobonichi lineup has grown from 1 to 7 types, with some being available in Japanese, English, and Chinese, and has sold over 10 million copies over the world.
The Paper Series uses unique paper by specialized paper trading company Takeo. This black cover features a fine surface embossing that catches the light to reveal a subtle argyle pattern. Despite its textured look, it offers a smooth, matte feel to the touch. The year 2027 is stamped in silver foil. The cover has been constructed as a light hardcover book with some give to it so it still bends.
