Platinum 3776 Century 2.0 Fountain Pen - Demonstrator - Limited Edition
Platinum’s founder, Shunichi Nakata, began to sell fountain pens, such as Waterman, shortly after the end of World War I. He believed that fountain pens had the potential to be cultural symbols and in 1924 established Nakaya Seisakusho to manufacture and sell his own pens in Ueno, Tokyo, which is home to other cultural institutions such as art and science museums. After World War II, Nakata renamed the company to Platinum Pens, after the king of all metals.
Celebrating 15 years since the debut of the #3776 Century, a new model is born—refined through meticulous redesigns in pursuit of even greater evolution.
The renowned “Slip & Seal Mechanism”, which prevents ink from drying out, now boasts enhanced airtightness, extending its effectiveness dramatically from about 2 years to over 3 years. In the Demonstrator model, the inner cap is printed to allow you to visually enjoy the moment when the nib is sealed.
The internal structure has also been refined: the inner surface has been made flat for greater transparency, reducing reflections and making ink levels easier to check. A rubber ring has been added to the section to further reinforce airtightness and prevent loosening during writing.
With a newly re-engineered section structure, both strength and ease of maintenance are improved. Through its clear body, the #3776 Century Demonstrator invites you to experience these innovations firsthand, offering a special writing experience where functional beauty meets transparency.
The Platinum #3776 Century fountain pen comes with a Platinum ink cartridge, a converter for use with bottled ink, and comes with a special 20ml bottle of Platinum ink.
This fountain pen features a 14k gold nib. The Mt.Fuji motif, inherited from the original #3776, has been refined into a contemporary expression, carrying forward its sense of trust and dignity while achieving a more polished and sophisticated look. The #3776 Century is light and well-balanced for those long, uninterrupted writing sessions.
Limited to just 2,000 units worldwide, this pen is sure to delight collectors and writing enthusiasts alike.
