Ro-Biki Note - Texture Series - Tonoko-iro
Yamamoto Paper was founded in 1972 as a paper wholesaler in Osaka. In 2005, drawing from their years of experience as a wholesaler, Yamamoto Paper began to produce and sell their own paper products to share their enjoyment of paper. This mission is evident in products like their Yamamoto Paper Tasting Pack, which allows individuals to sample from a variety of papers.
[RO-BIKI NOTE Texture Series] is a new series that challenges the expression of the texture of the paper itself, which is further accentuated by applying a wax finish. The embossed patterns produced by the engraved press rolls and the tints reproduced from the raw materials colored under detailed color control are transformed into deeper expressions through the waxing process. The contrast of transparency that appears due to the difference in wax content can also be enjoyed.
Tonko-iro
This color name is derived from the color of fine powder (tokoi) produced when sharpening knives with a whetstone. Tonoko is also used to finish white wood and as a primer for lacquerware. It is also known to be used by Kabuki actors as a base for stage makeup.
