Hobonichi Techo - Hiroko Kubota: Hobonichi Graph A6 Notebook - Another night of falling star sparklers

Hobonichi started as a lifestyle website “Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun,” [Almost Daily Itoi Newspaper] in 1998 featuring “almost-daily” essays by founder and editor-in-chief, Shigesato Itoi, who is well known for other ventures including game design and songwriting. In 2001, the Hobonichi Techo [planner] was launched after positive response from readers when asked if they would purchase a techo by the brand if developed. Since then, the Hobonichi lineup has grown from 1 to 7 types, with some being available in Japanese, English, and Chinese, and has sold over 10 million copies over the world.

DETAILS

This graph-paper notebook is made with Tomoe River paper, opens completely flat, and the printing comes in four different colors across the book. The sparkler’s glow is expressed with aurora foil, which shimmers differently depending on the angle. A quiet night scene wrapped in stillness. It’s a design full of Hiroko Kubota’s signature charm—so much so that you can almost hear the gentle crackle of the sparkler held by the cat.

  • 3.7" x 5.5" (A6)
